PaperMech (www.papermech.net) is where we share our research on design tools and techniques for mechanical movements combining with paper crafting. We began this journey in 2014 from our visionary project on Paper Mechatronics–a new interdisciplinary design medium combining traditional papercrafting with elements of mechanical design, electronic engineering, and computational thinking. We believe it can open up new creative possibilities as a hands-on learning medium.
This project has been generously funded by National Science Foundation (2017-2020 & 2014-2016: Sherry Hsi/PI, Mike and Ann Eisenberg/Co-PIs. Under these grants, I completed my PhD dissertation on Computational Design Tools and Techniques for Paper Mechatronics in 2018.
